CELEBRATING TWO DECADES
Capturing the Soul of Cairns and North Queensland's Community & Culture
I am a communicator at heart, and am utterly passionate about capturing, presenting, and thereby preserving cultural stories through a combination of still photography and video. My work is intended as a celebration of creative expression.. of Diversity, and of Harmony within that diversity.
Over the years I have nurtured strong, trusting relationships, and a cultural sensitivity to our diverse community groups. I am thankful for those who have taken the time to help me on this path. I have a reverent eye for our natural environment, and thrive on painting our cultural stories onto the beautiful canvas of our region.
I have served for ten years as the ocial photographer for Cairns Festival, I have shot the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) since 2010, regularly shot The Cooktown Discovery Festival, Laura Dance Festival, Wallaby Creek Festival, and a wide range community events over the years. What an incredible privilege, a joy, and now what a rich collection of gathered celebration.
My assignments have seen many gigs at the Tanks Arts Centre, Munro Martin Park, the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, the Courthouse gallery, Cairns Gallery, Umi Arts gallery, CIAF exhibitions, and private exhibitions along the way. I love to shoot Art in any form, whether it’s the artists themselves, the creation process, the nished works, exhibitions, or live performance, and I am always reaching to improve my own photography and videography to do justice to the heArt of I document.
The galleries include a selection of Festivals, exhibitions, live performances, markets, and a dedicated focus on our unique Indigenous culture. Over the years I have been honoured to shoot more and more of our Indigenous culture, artists, elders, children, cultural festivals, rangers, indigenous land management, and communities.
For this honour, I am most grateful, and with this responsibility, I strive to serve better each day.
